We can help you achieve better outcomes from major upstream contract negotiations.
The SPI team has been directly involved in crafting and negotiating some of the more significant international upstream agreements. These include production sharing agreements following the opening up of the former Soviet Union in the 1990s in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan; and technical service agreements in Iran and Iraq. Team members have also been involved with drafting innovative legal-commercial solutions to unitization agreements and the drafting and negotiation of exploration agreements with Iran for exploration in the Caspian Sea. Members of the SPI team have advised governments on oil and gas legislation and parliament members and NGOs on upstream agreements as part of the EITI.
We can provide legal and commercial advice ranging from review of contract terms to complete drafting of major agreements and construction of commercial terms supported by financial models. We can also provide advice on negotiations with host governments.
Our proprietary oil price forecast scenarios can inform valuations for subscribers to this service (Oil Price Forecasting).
